While touring Pemberley, Elizabeth Bennet overhears gossip about Fitzwilliam Darcy that provokes a surge of jealousy. Her worst nightmare has come true, and she flees in despair and anger. Upon returning unexpectedly from London, he hears news from his staff of a young lady of his acquaintance who ran from his house in tears. Rushing to search for the woman of his dreams, he finds her soaked and distraught in a folly identical to the one of his rejected proposal. Passions ignite. Her fury and his fear for her health provoke an unplanned revelation. Forbidden lust explodes in a secret cottage Mr Darcy has prepared for clandestine liaisons with the love of his life.

It appears all misunderstandings are resolved between the two with a betrothal—or are they?

WARNING This is a sexually explicit telling of a ‘Pride and Prejudice’ what if.

Darcy’s circle of friends and acquaintances, and perhaps a large number of the ton are sexually active. When Darcy begins to think he might love Lizzy, he opens her mind to that mindset and she is surprised to find herself thinking and acting upon her new ideas.

And yet, there is a certain amount of guilt and shame she feels. Toward the end of the book she feels a bit of self loathing and that Darcy may be depraved even though she thought she loved him. She yells at him in an extremely hurtful way. She says many things to him that might be unforgivable.

The HEA is seriously in doubt.

This is a very erotic story. It’s very well written. There is wordplay in conversations Oscar Wilde would have been proud to have written.

I recommend this book but only for people who will be ok with the sexual content. It a major component of the plot and could not have been written without it’s inclusion.

Mr Darcy Cottage of Earthly Delights Shades of Pride and Prejudice edition by Beth Massey Romance eBooks Reviews

The book was enjoyable to read. I would give it 4 stars. The sexual explicitness was enjoyable and added to the story. Once again, I was struck by Lizzy's sense of moral indignation, naivete, of Darcy having a lover over the years (one he pays for the service). What did she think a man of 28 years would do during his young adulthead, remain a virgin?

Partial Spoiler Alert
The story begins with Lizzy visiting Pemberley and hearing that Darcy likely has a mistress as he has not been sleeping in his bed. Lizzy abruptly leaves the Pemberley house, it rains, and Darcy returns home. When Darcy encounters Lizzy in the rain she is full of rage and he takes her to the cottage, which he set up for them. This is where he has been sleeping. They have sex that day at the cottage and she agrees to marry him, but she continues to have nagging doubts and guilt about her own behaviour prior to marriage. This takes place in the first quarter of the book and the remainder takes place in London, where her doubts about Darcy continue to nag her.

As I read this book, I am surprised at Lizzy's naivete regarding women's reproduction or how one becomes pregnant. A question such as why did you ask whether I had had my courses yet, I would hope women of the early 19th century would be aware of the significance.
O.k, I'm sensing that most people who bought a copy of this book - and are complaining about it- did not read the author's warning sexual explicit.

Needless to say, it is... *very* sexual explicit.

As I'm concerned this was *exactly* the kind of book I was looking for!!! I've recently took on reading several P&P sequels -from various genres, including "erotic"- and so far in the 'erotic genre', I have to say that this book didn't disappoint. More over I was glad to find out that the sex portrayed feels natural and well written.

Sometimes erotic novels try to show so much that end up being laughable in their portrayal of intimacy. I was glad to find out that this novel didn't fall into that category as it balances a nice plot with erotic elements. Although I might add that this is a personal view and it might change from reader to reader. In any case, I really enjoyed the book. If you are looking for a sequel where Darcy and Elizabeth get it on, you should give this book a try.

Although I agree with some of the comments that at least the digital version NEEDS an urgent revision as it is missing quotation marks from dialogues and such.
This is a well written book and people who are not used to reading sexually explicit articles will not like this novel. I give Beth Massey a lot of credit for attempting and creating this book. In today's world sex is talked about much more than in regency times however, sometimes it is taken in the wrong content.
I liked the fact that men in this novel were trained how to please women sexually and not just take what they want for their own pleasure. Mrs. T's house was explained well and brothels other than hers were explained as well.
There were up and downs in Lizzy and Darcy's story in the novel and that is what kept it interesting. Also we have to say no novel would be complete without Aunt Catherine and Wickham trying to cause trouble. I do like the way the story kept Lydia from marrying Wickham and would up marrying and becoming a Countess. Kitty was so happy to hear about her sister's great fortune, she even told the cats.
As the story continues, there were weddings, deaths, births, and Mr. Bennet became the patriarch figure to all the sons since none had
fathers living.
These men were all taught at Mrs. Teasdale's house and all treated their wives well. Lizzy felt that there wasn't going to be anyone to educated the young men (Children) of those where were educated there since Mrs. T was selling the business. Darcy said the children would learn from the love the parents showed to each other.
I Also liked the part where Mr. & Mrs. Bennet found their lost love and eventually had a son about the time Lydia had a son. So therefore Longbourn was no longer entailed to the Collins family.
Well written and looking forward to reading another of Beth's novels.
I'll say straight off the bat and spoil this story a bit this book is explicit. Basically. Lizzy and Darcy have sex in the very beginning and the story goes from there lol. For those not liking these scenes, well then this isn't the book for you.

For the rest of us, that scene is just the tip of a deliciously scandalous story. Why is it scandalous? The author touches upon things that are certainly taboo back then, but so relevant today. In this case, same sex relationships and marriage. Again, many will have a problem with it.

Personally, I found it rather original and interesting. Regardless of my beliefs, this story is very different and sometimes I like that. I like that when Lydia is "used and abused" (for lack of a better phrase) by Wickham, she finds a man who knows how to not only treat her right but pleasure her in a way that gives equal rights in a physical relationship. The story has humor while dealing with serious topics.

I say if you're courageous enough, definitely give this book a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
